About us at ‘LET’S LEARN ENGLISH’ -

(i) We are small, our classes are small, and we are very friendly.

(ii) We have a very powerful internet Learning System which we have developed over the 8 years since our school opened. Our students use this system after class from their own rooms for many hours of extra practice, at no extra cost.

(iii) We also use an electronic whiteboard and our own laboratory at school for a very effective blended learning assistance.

(iv) Our students get lots of opportunity to listen to, and speak in, English – lots of conversations with grammar support!

(v) We teach to the syllabus of the CEFR, the international standard for second language speakers. All the international exam organisations (IELTS, TOEFL, CAE etc) and the British Council use the CEFR syllabus.

(vi) We use the Dogme ELT methodology in our teaching. (See the following links: http://www.teachhub.com/learning-their-way-dogme-elt-one-teachers-viewpoint ; https://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/article/dogme-a-teachers-view)

(vii) The students in class are between the intermediate and advanced ‘plus’ levels.

(viii) The distinction between the students is made at the quality of each student’s input.

(ix)We respond to each student at their own reading, speaking, listening, grammatical etc. level.

(x) For these reasons, our students make quick progress in a short time.

(xi) Let us know if you wish to contact any past students who have been to our school.

Any student who is serious about studying to improve their English, and who wants to enjoy their lessons.

Students who need exam preparation for international English exams – IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, CAE, CFA. Any student who wants a Cape Town holiday for a few weeks, and at the same time, to improve their English.

If you have a minimum of a pre-intermediate level of English when you begin your course, our very small classes and Dogme methods will ensure your rapid progress.

Most students do not need a long course to reach a good level of English. Why pay more than you need to?

Most of our students come from countries in:

Europe – (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia).

South America – (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela).

Africa – (Angola, Namibia, DRC, Mozambique).

Citizens of all of the above countries in Europe and South America, as well as Angola and Namibia in Africa -

can enter South Africa with only their passport and no VISA, can stay for up to 90 days and can also study an English course while here.

Citizens of Mozambique or Turkey, for example, can use their passport as above, but can stay for up to 30 days.

Citizens of many other countries will need to apply for a Tourist VISA if they want to come here, and this can allow you to stay for up to 90 days. If a student wishes to stay for longer than 90 days, they will need to apply for a Study VISA. We cannot guarantee they will get the VISA, because this is the decision of the South African Department of Home Affairs.

We invite you to do our Levels Test Online before leaving home – it may take you one hour or a little more, and it is completely free. We will get the result of the test at our school, and will then let you know what your level of English is. We will also be aware of your current strengths and weaknesses in English.

You will need a good set of headphones to do the test – what we need from you first is your name and your email address, and we will then send you access to our internet Learning System to do the test.

For more infomation ‘Email’ us at ‘info@letslearnnenglish.co.za’.
